The story follows Stephanie, a widowed single mother and overbearing best friend to Emily, a fashionable and successful PR executive who mysteriously disappears. When Emily doesn’t show up to pick up her son from school and then fails to return any of Stephanie’s calls, Stephanie begins to worry. Further thoughts

This is not a book for everyone. There are graphic descriptions of abuse, Manipulation, and murder. The book is disturbing and often difficult to read. The story is told from the perspective of a woman who was friends with the victim and it is clear that she has her own issues. The story is dark and often twisted. I found myself skimming through parts because I just couldn’t bear to read them. That said, I could not put the book down. The characters are so well developed and the plot is twisty and turny enough to keep you guessing until the very end. If you are looking for a light and fluffy read, this is not the book for you. But if you are looking for a well written thriller that will keep you up at night, I would highly recommend it.
